Lil Learners are very soft and trim! They are not bulky at all. It is great you can use them as swimming diapers and training pants! I understand that they are not able to hold as much as a disposable pullup diaper since these are training pants that are more like underwear with insurance for a little accident or two. Definitely better and more absorbant than the regular cotton underwear trainers. The outer waterproof breathable TPU and hidden absorbancy has these Lil Learners set for success and I can't wait to use these for starting ***** training later. Great quality and design! I love Tokidoki prints and am so glad I added Lil Learners to our stash!
My daughter is 3 years old and I got the medium size after having to reorder because I realized I got her size wrong and had to measure her again. I'm glad I got these! Compared to other brands I've tried this has the best absorbency and I use it for night time wetting, it doesn't leak out everywhere. I have noticed that when she wakes up the snaps leave a mark, she sleeps on her side so the snaps dig a bit into her skin. I also noticed she wakes up a little damp in the front part where the trainer is. Other than than the design, the absorbancy, and the snaps(which are good/better for daytime accidents where I have to get it off her easily) are excellent!
The first problem with these undies is that they were way too small. My daughters are 3 and 5 years old, 38 and 40 lbs, we got the size medium and the pants can barely be pulled up. I reordered a size large - much more comfy! The second problem is that they do not hold a nighttime accident. We are using them for nighttime wetting - as suggested by kangacare on amazon. My daughters either have "dry" nights or have a big wet. On nights that they are dry they LOVE these "nighttime undies" but on nights that they wet they wake up with the entire bed being soaked. Very disappointed - I had high hopes! I'm so tired of wasting disposable pull ups - especially because most nights they wake up dry. But it is not worth my time to be changing sheets in the middle of the night so often. I have washed them several times now - always with plain detergent and no softener or brightener. They just don't hold enough liquid - and it seems to come right out the leg hole anyway :-(
