Guide to One Size Cloth Diapering for Newborns

Cloth Diapering for Newborns: A Guide to One Size Cloth Diaper Options

If you have researched cloth diapers, you have probably come across the one-size cloth diapering option. One-size cloth diapers fit your baby in all diapering stages from birth until potty training. They are a great option if you are working on a budget, since you will only spend money on diapers once.

The reusable one-size diaper in typical cloth diaper brands does not fit kids until they weigh ten to twelve pounds, at which point they are three months old. However, our Kanga Care Rumparooz diapers fit newborns weighing six or seven pounds. Further, the diapers will grow with your little one until they weigh over 40 pounds. At this stage, they will be ready for potty training.

Which Are the One-Size Cloth Diapers Designs?

At Kanga Care, we have two designs that your kid can use until they outgrow the diapering stage: Rumparooz Reusable One Size Cloth Pocket Diaper and Rumparooz One Size Reusable Cloth Cover.

  •  Rumparooz Reusable One-Size Cloth Pocket Diaper

It is a unique pocket cloth diaper designed to fit a baby weighing between a minimum of six pounds to a maximum of 40 pounds. Ideally, it is a single diaper with four sizes that include the following:

  • Newborn setting that will fit a baby weighing between six pounds and ten pounds
  • Small setting that will fit a baby weighing between ten pounds and to 17 pounds
  • Medium setting that will hold an infant weighing between 17 pounds and twenty-seven pounds
  • Large setting that will fit a baby weighing between 27 pounds to over 35 pounds

Our all-in-one diapers have numerous adjustable absorbency levels. Consequently, you can customize them to suit your little one’s needs as they grow. Each pocket diaper comes with a microfiber 6R Soaker. You can also increase the absorbency by pairing with either hemp or bamboo 6R Soakers.

Paired like that, the options for adjusting the absorbency levels are endless, which gives adaptability other diapering options and styles may lack.

  • Rumparooz One Size Reusable Cloth Cover

We design our Rumparooz One Size Cloth Diaper Cover to grow with your kid. It also has four adjustable size settings: newborn, small, medium, and large. The settings enable you to adjust the diaper covers to fit babies between six pounds and over 35 pounds.

Also, we size our one-size diaper covers generously to fit properly over our Kanga Care Ecoposh Fitted, Kanga Care Flats, or Kanga Care Prefolds.

The Rumparooz One Size Cloth Diaper Cover has tummy elastic to ensure it fits over the absorbency and keeps it tucked into the cover without peeking out. It is also made of waterproof TPU and has leg gussets to enhance leak protection.

You can wipe clean the covers between uses to use them multiple times before laundering. It is available in two closure options: Aplix hook & loop and KAM snap.

What to Check When Shopping for One Size Cloth Diapers for Newborns

  • Weight range

The Rumparooz One Size diaper is the only true one-size diaper, as it holds six pounds at its smallest setting, which is right from birth. Newborns weigh between five and eight pounds on average at birth. However, many one-size diapers fit from ten to twelve pound babies in the smallest setting, which is about 12 weeks after the baby is born.

  • Umbilical cord cut/snap-down button

Newborns have their umbilical cord stump intact for the first few days to weeks of life. A diaper covering this area can cause minor irritation. Choose a diaper that makes allowance for the umbilical cord and ease of care.

  • Type of closures

Pick a closure that secures the diaper firmly, holding it in place to contain messes, but safe for your newborn. Kanga Care one-size diapers use snaps to fasten the diapers. If you use flat cloth diapers, you can secure them using Snappi diaper fasteners that are both effective and safe.

  • Stay dry lining

Absorbency in a diaper is good, but never at the expense of comfort. A good diaper should keep the baby dry and comfortable. Kanga Care uses stay-dry lining in its diapers and inserts that wick the wetness away from your baby’s skin, keeping them dry.

  • Double gussets

The double gussets are a patented feature of Kanga Care diapers that help keep the diaper snug on the baby without constricting them.

Newborns have unique diapering needs that not many one-size diapers can meet. Kanga Care is ready to meet your newborn’s requirements! Purchase the Rumparooz One Size cloth diaper and experience the only true One Size diaper.
