Potty Training
Lil Learnerz are perfect for little ones curious about potty time but still having the occasional accident. They feature a waterproof outer layer plus enough absorbency for about one accident inside. Thanks to ImWet Technology, kids can sense when they’re wet, making potty learning easier and more fun! These pants work great during the day for handling little mishaps, but they’re not designed for overnight use, especially if your child often wakes up wet. Materials
Waterproof Exterior :: 100% plant-based polyester + bioTPU laminate (permanently heat bonded using groundwater safe adhesive)

Wash & Care
Prep :: As needed, knock off, or spray, solids into toilet. If used for swim - we recommended rinsing chlorinated pool water out of training pants before storing until wash day (as you would your swimsuit). Flip inside out. Store soiled training pants in Wet Bag or Pail Liner
What do I wash with? :: You can wash your training pants with your cloth diaper loads, a small load of just training pants (and a couple small towels to boost load), or if you only have a couple you can wash them with a regular load of clothing - be sure to not use fabric softener in the wash or dryer sheets in the dryer.
Typical Cloth Diaper Wash:
Rinse :: Machine wash Cold/Cold rinse. No detergent
Wash :: Machine wash Warm/Hot (not to exceed 120ºF), using a recommended detergent (amount will vary based on load size, use recommended scoop "line" for appropriate load size)
Extra Rinse :: Add 1-3 extra rinse cycles based on soil level of load
Dry :: Tumble dry low or hang dry in indirect sunlight

Excellent Quality
Ordered from the Target website to use as a swim diaper, then hopefully as training pants when ready. Ordered a Large for my stocky 2 year old, 32 lbs, 36", 4T in clothing, size 5-6 in disposable diapers and it fits perfectly! Feels very soft and comfy, excellent quality. Would size up if your little one has chunky thighs/midsection. Love the 2 pack, and that it is washable, disposable seem very wasteful and don't normally fit well.

I think these are the BEST idea for a ***** training little. My girls are in cloth all day, and disposables at night.. well because cloth just doesn't hold up since they sleep so long. I LOVED these when I got them, but then I realized they are really more hassle than they are worth. The sizing is a little off, or they are just not made well. They are so incredibly tight that my daughter can't pull them down when she needs to go *****, so she just pees in them. When that happens, because she is a toddler and pees a lot, it leaks. So not only do I have to then wash the panties, but her entire outfit. I wish that the padding in them was more comparable to a cloth diaper, and that they were maybe a little more stretchy around the hip and thigh area so that my little could pull them down. Definitely wish I had only purchased a two pack before buying as many as I did, because it honestly feels like a waste of money. The three stars are pretty much only because I think they are a fantastic idea, would give five stars if they were practical and not just cute.

It does sound like yours were a bit too small as your child should be able to pull them up and down with ease thanks to the wide waistband which is easy for little hands. These are designed to be a potty training aid and not a diaper, so you are correct in that they will not contain the same amount of absorbency.
